Private Install is designed to be installed behind your firewall so you can take advantage of the security systems built into your data center. But if you need to allow access to team members working at home or contractors at remote locations, you can limit access to specified IP addresses.

Easy Updates

The virtual machine image makes installing updates easy: just download and install the latest version which contains all the enhancements. Want to backup your system? Simply create a "snapshot" that can be restored in case of emergency.

Authentication and Mail Server Integration

Private Install can be integrated with LDAP, Active Directory and SAML authentication systems. You can set email alerts and messages to run through your own email server, or through a third-party service like Gmail™, Windows Live™ Hotmail, and Yahoo!® Mail.

System Requirements

Assembla's Private Install is an OVF image (Open Virtualization Format) that will run on several types of free and commercially licensed hypervisors, including VMware® Player and Oracle® VM VirtualBox. Both 32-bit and 64-bit host operating systems are supported.

  • OS: Any OS that supports your VM, including Windows 7, Linux, Mac OS, Solaris and Chrome
  • CPU: At least Core 2 duo or Core Quad and AMD processors with virtualization support
  • Host RAM: 3.5 GB for 32-bit operating systems or 4.0 GB for 64-bit operating systems
  • Storage: 22 GB to hold both the download and the unpacked virtual image
